If you have ever wondered what it was like to work at a State Archive or a Presidential Library, then please apply for the Alternate Spring Break Program (ASB). SIS is happy to announce several projects at these iconic institutions during the 2025 Spring Break, March 10-14.
Current students can network professionally, build their résumés, and short cut the job-hunting process with this program. This is open to current Archival and DCM students. You must have taken or are currently taking two courses in archives or DCM to be considered.
All students accepted into the program will be paid $600 gross for their work and are expected to work 40 hours that week, unless noted. For on-site programs, some travel money will be allotted. Please specify how much money you would need for the travel. We will do our best to cover the majority of transportation and hotel costs.
Applications due by 11:59pm on January 30th, 2025.
Submission Requirements:
- Résumé (be sure that it includes expected graduation date, niche' courses or projects and technology skills)
- Unofficial Transcript
- Contact information for one to two professional references
- A paragraph citing how you estimate this will help you professionally/why you are applying
- Clearly list the three projects that you are most interested in by institution and project name and number.
Please note that submission is not a guarantee of being awarded a project and that not all projects may be assigned. Also, additional projects may be added over the next two weeks.
Students will be notified on or about February 10th, 2025 of acceptance to the program.
