The Wayne State Woman of Distinction Alumna Award is presented to a Wayne State alumna who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to women and/or issues of diversity, equity and inclusion after earning a degree at Wayne State. We define “commitment” broadly to encompass all areas and levels of work in the community within or beyond the scope of her own occupation or profession.
Please follow these directions when completing this form.
If this is a self-nomination, write self where appropriate. Please only nominate an individual if both you and the nominee are available for the award ceremony on November 7, 2019 at 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The statement of commitment should be no more than 500 words, and may include the nominee's:
1. Involvement and/or leadership in activities related to women/or issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.
2. Impact achieved related to women/or issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.
3. Plan for continuing commitment to women/issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Provide the persons completed graduation date in this form.
You may attach files that contain additional supporting materials related to the nominee's commitment to women/issues of diversity, equity and inclusion from published sources, such as newspapers, journals, websites, organizational newsletters, etc.
Nominations are due by September 30, 2019.
**Alumna and Students who are current COSW Commissioners and/or CDC committee members/volunteers are not eligible to be nominated.
