Thank you for your interest in our student-alumni engagement programs. At this time, these opportunities are only available to students currently enrolled at the School of Medicine. If you are an undergraduate seeking opportunities to engage with physicians, please contact your pre-med advisor.

Engage with WSUSOM Alumni

Medical Specialty Luncheons & Webinars

The WSU Medical Alumni Association hosts a series of medical specialty lunches and virtual webinars; praciticing physicians and residents will speak on their experience, offer suggestions and answer questions.

Dinner with a Doc

The WSU School of Medicine Dinner with a Doc program matches current students with practicing physicians in the Detroit metro area. Physicians host dinner for a current student in their home or restaurant.

Shadowing

Physicians welcome current students to shadow at their practice. It's a great way to build relationships with future colleagues in the WSUSOM family while learning at the same time.

HOST (Help Our Students Travel) Program (Years 3 & 4)

HOST is a program sponsored by the WSU Medical Alumni Association designed to reduce students' residency travel expenses and connect alumni and students throughout the country. Alumni volunteers provide students with a free place to stay as well as offer invaluable advice about residency training, the prospective medical center and community in which they are interviewing.
