MCUC 2021 Registration

Join us virtually for the Michigan Canvas Users Conference (MCUC) on Friday, March 12, 2021, to discuss the rapid evolution of education and how to design virtual experiences that address systemic inequity.

In the past year, education has transformed to fit virtual life — creating additional challenges and fatigue not only for students, but also for educators, instructional designers, support personnel, and administrators. This change brought to light existing inequities in our social institutions and has given us an opportunity to reassess how we support all types of students. Together at MCUC 2021, we'll focus on providing an equitable education today and in the future.

Topics this year include:

  • Expanding access to the internet, electronic devices, and other technology resources to underserved populations
  • Initiatives and experiences which contribute to a more equitable learning environment
  • Equitable classroom solutions that use innovative technology and pedagogy
  • The evolution of best practices in instruction and course planning
  • Faculty development and adoption strategies
  • Administering and managing the remote classroom and workplace
  • Gamification for equity and accessibility

Dr. Vikki Katz from Rutgers University will join us as our keynote speaker. Dr. Katz's research focuses on digital inequality and technology integration in classroom teaching. Learn more about her work at vikkikatz.com.

MCUC is the largest annual gathering of Michigan-based education, learning design, support, and administrative users of the cloud-based learning management system, Canvas.
