Undergraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Admission Application

The undergraduate certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation provides students the specialized knowledge and skills needed to develop and launch a new venture. The 15-credit certificate is open to students of all majors.

Through this certificate program, students are able to:

  • Understand the stages and dimensions of new venture development
  • Learn how to acquire and manage the financial and human resources that are key to success
  • Begin to develop a personal entrepreneurial network

Admission Requirements

The undergraduate certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation is open to WSU undergraduate students who are currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in any field. It is also open to students who have previously earned a bachelor's degree at Wayne State University or other accredited institution and want another concentration in a related field.

The program is open to students who have completed at least 60 credit hours and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above. Any student who meets these requirements can enroll in EI 5000, the introductory course that serves as a prerequisite for full admission to the certificate program.

Students must apply for admission to the certificate program and only admitted students will be permitted to enroll in the additional courses required to complete the program. Because space may be limited, students will be advised to complete their application on a timely basis if they believe they have the desire and ability to succeed, commitment to meet the demands of the program, and wish to complete the program in the time requirement.
