AVS Michigan Symposium Poster Abstract Submission

Welcome to the abstract submission page for the 42nd AVS Michigan Chapter 2024 Symposium: “Materials, Processes, and Devices for Novel Computing Hardware.” The event is scheduled for June 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wayne State University Engineering Auditorium, 5050 Anthony Wayne, Detroit, MI 48202.

Poster Abstract Submission Instructions:

  • Abstracts should be 1 page long with a maximum of 300 words.
  • Figures and tables are permitted.
  • The abstract must include the following:
    • Title
    • List of authors (presenter's name first)
    • Affiliations

Student Poster Awards:

First place: $500, Second place: $400, AVS Chapter* prize: $400

Please note that student poster awards are only available for master's and PhD students. *The presenting student must be an AVS member to participate. Poster Presentation Guidelines:

  • Presenters must register at the designated table upon arrival to receive a poster number.
  • Posters are to be displayed before the commencement of the poster session.
  • There will be two poster sessions; presenters are required to attend both sessions to engage with judges.
  • The poster must remain on display for the entire duration of the poster session to be eligible for awards.
  • Presenters should be prepared to explain to judges how their work aligns with the Symposium's theme.
