Wayne State University’s Word Warriors enthusiastically solicit nominations of words that deserve wider use. To submit a word whose more frequent appearance would enliven the state of contemporary English, please complete this form and then click "send."
Exclude slang, jargon, or words of recent invention; words that border on the totally obscure; words still fairly common in daily speech; and anything other readers might find offensive. What we're looking for ideally is words formerly in wider use, not just words rarely heard (though if you have one you think has been wrongly overlooked, let's hear about it). PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE A DEFINITION. We reserve the right to rewrite any and all materials submitted -- except for the words themselves.
Vote for words of which you especially approve (or words you'd like to see continue toward oblivion) by clicking on the thumbs-up or thumbs-down symbols. We'll post occasional reports of the most and least popular words, and use your votes to put together a year's-end list of the creme de la creme.
Thanks very much. Now enjoy!
